Free Power Blue Print – Benefits of Alternative Energy

There is much talk about energy these days. People have different views about it but they all boil down to one thing ? energy conservation. When people start to talk about conserving energy, they often have discussions about alternative sources of energy. But what are really the benefits of alternative energy sources? Are we really better off using them instead of fossil fuels?

Click Here For Benefits Of Alternative Energy Best Deal Now!

Indeed, there are several benefits that we can realize when using alternative energy. Of course you will need to make a certain investment on special equipment ? you either purchase them or you can make one. Once you have the right apparatus, you will realize that you will no longer have to purchase electricity ever again because you can already generate your own.

Once you are able to sufficiently generate power for your home, you will not be far from having excess electricity. So what will happen to the surplus energy? You can sell them back to your local utility! Clean energy is something that power plants find hard to refuse. With alternative energy, you do not only have cost savings, you also have a source of added income.

The benefits of alternative energy are not only limited for home use. We can also use alternative energy on our vehicles. Being able to produce our own clean fuel can impact the amount of oil that we import from other countries. In the long run, this will also have significant effects on our economy, especially on consumer prices. Using clean bio diesel on our cars will also help us save the energy because we will be able to reduce the amount of contaminants that are being released into the air that we breathe.

With the surging oil prices and the various threats to our environment, it is indeed time for us to change how we look at burning fossil fuel and start looking into alternative energy sources. These are only a few of the benefits of alternative energy and most of them underscore cost savings. Who knows what other advantages lie beneath these clean energy sources.

Peak Oil: Does America Have Sustainable Power?

Peak Oil: Does America Have Sustainable Power?

We are living in a tumultuous world. We are experiencing an economic downturn, and the way things look right now, it seems this ?recession? may even be greater than the great depression. The war as they say is the cause. The budget deficit for 2008 was over $400,000,000. This money certainly would have been put to better use within America itself.

    The ?Conspiracy? Theory

Most people will are of the opinion that the president of the United States waged war on Iraq country due to oil; America after all is one of the world?s largest consumer of this scarce natural resource. Everything in the US is automated, or electrical. To run machines you need oil products, to produce high demands of electricity you need millions of barrels of oil to run the generators.

It is not preposterous to believe that the U.S, whose reliance on Middle Eastern oil is immense, has vested interest in acquiring a country so rich in black gold. First of all it will make oil sources available anytime they want without having to bother with diplomacy and pass through another government. Second more profit for the American oil corporations, because if they can get fossil fuel at cost then they will have more earnings. The theory makes sense and could very much be possible.

    Sustainable Power Resources

We are not here to discuss political and personal issues. All I want to do is to point out that there are other faces in this picture. Yes, America is one of the world?s largest energy consumers, but it also has the largest alternative energy resources in the World.

    Geothermal, Hydro, Wind and etc

The United States of America is considered as the world?s greatest geothermal energy producer. The Geysers located just north of San Francisco are the planet?s first and largest dry steam fields. The amazing thing about these power plants -since there are several- is that sewage waste from surrounding cities are pumped into the geothermal plant in order to replenish the supply of steam needed for energy production. States such as Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, and Utah have their own geothermal plants.

Considered the fourth country with the largest hydropower capacity, the U.S has revolutionized hydropower by building numerous dams in highly planned areas all across the country. Definitely, the most popular is the Hoover Dam. At the time it was fully operational Hoover Dam was said to be the world?s largest electricity generating hydropower plant. The Hoover dam supplies electricity to the states of Nevada, Arizona and most of Southern California.

Rock Port, Missouri is a city in North America which is fully powered by wind farms. Of the 50 states in America, over half have wind farms which help supply their electricity needs. Some states may have aesthetic issues, but wind farms will definitely become essential in the future especially when the impact of declining oil supplies from the Middle East is felt.

    Conclusion

The United States have their own oil resources right within their backyards. There are new and promising sites in Texas and just off shore from New Orleans. And then there is a lot of excitement around the ?Bakken Formation? in the States of Montana and the Dakotas. But one thing remains obvious, fossil fuel as an energy source is not viable for human health and the future of our environment. If you?re still asking why the American government is waging war for oil? Maybe it?s not just oil after all. Perhaps, there is a more deeper and nefarious plan at work, a peace crusade with a sword in hand, but not to accomplish peace, rather to expand power and?

Green Friendly Motoring: Gas Up Your Car With Bio-fuels!

The alarming effects of pollution in the environment added with the fast depletion and rising costs of fossil fuels, has prompted scientific communities and governments to create measures to alleviate these problems the world over.

One of the solutions that sprang up from laboratories are bio- fuels- plant extracts and compounds which when added to gasoline and petrol will substitute fuel characteristics.

Bio- fuels certainly aids the environment as they are biological in nature and therefore do not add carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Coming from carbon dioxide digesters in nature, they typically remove carbon dioxide and in turn give off the same amount when burnt.

Though still in the introduction stage in the market, bio- fuels has proven to be promising with surprising results- they do not only cost much less to make than gasoline or petrol additives, but elaborate tests has proven that they can also improve vehicle performance and clean emissions! Further tests conducted have also proven that bio-fuels eliminate smog and engine build-up.

A lot of oil companies are slowly picking up the pace in marketing these types of fuel and a lot are reporting sales steadily on the rise due to the affordability and added benefits. There are also new oil market players that cater exclusively to the production and distributing bio-fuels and by-products, now gaining influence off the growing demand for cheaper and cleaner fuel alternatives.

Bio-fuel variants largely used in vehicles today include:

    1. Bio- Diesel

For diesel engines. This type of fuel can be used with existing cars with little or no adaptation needed and scores well on the energy ratings. Cars on Bio- Ethanol basically land the same rankings as those running on gasoline. The difference however shows up on the combustion process as Bio-Ethanol only emits the carbon dioxide it has used up in the growth process of its plant source, while burning gasoline or diesel adds more CO2 into the atmosphere due to their underground containment in oil deposits for eons of years.

Large sources of plant extracts usually come from the following:

    * Ethanol alcohol from Sugarcane
    * Oil extracts from mature Jathropa seeds
    * Coconut oil

    2. Biogas

Another interesting alternative to fossil fuels, Biogas is the type of gas from animal or plant wastes or a combination of both. A mixture of both has been proven to yield the best results. The animal wastes produce the nitrogen for bacterial growth and vegetable matter supplies the needed carbon.

With the positive market feedback, researchers are still looking and testing other viable plant sources for an even improved fuel additive which will eventually (should the need arise) power vehicles in the future.

As a motorist this is truly a great news- now you?ll get relief over fuel costs and maintenance bills but the most rewarding above all is that in using bio-fuels, you?re contributing to the welfare of your environment.

    Drive safely.

Future Development of Solar Energy Technologies

Solar energy technologies has significantly advanced in this century. Many buildings are now incorporated with passive solar in their designs. The cost of using solar hot water systems is very close to conventional systems in some areas. And as the cost of solar panel continues to decrease, these systems will be more widely used. The aim of solar industry in future is to provide half of the electricity of U.S. by 2025.

Germany and Japan have been leading in solar deployment for years. But the United States is catching up.Let us take California as an example.During 2000 and 2001,California experienced the rolling blackouts and soaring energy prices. This have motivated its leaders to diversify energy sources. In 2006,? California Solar Initiative was established, which dedicates $3.2 billion over 11 years to develop 3,000 megawatts of new solar electricity, equal to placing solar power systems on a million rooftops.

Other states in US are following California. Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Colorado and Arizona have specific requirements for solar energy as part of their renewable electricity standards. Many more states offer production incentives, rebates, tax incentives, loan and grant programs for solar industry. Even the federal government is offering a 30 percent tax credit (up to $2,000) for the purchase and installation of residential solar power systems and solar water heaters.

As the solar industry continues to expand, there will be occasional bumps in the road. For example, growing demand for manufacturing-quality silicon from the solar industries has raised the cost of PV(photovoltaic ) cell which is used to make solar panel. In addition, some utilities continue to put up roadblocks for grid-connected solar power systems. But these problems will be overcome, and in future solar energy will play an increasingly integral role in ending our national dependence on fossil fuels, combating the threat of global warming, and securing a future based on clean and sustainable energy.
